The
business curriculum moves through a broad liberal arts background through a general
core of business courses to a specific area of specialization. During the freshman
and sophomore years, students take courses in English composition, mathematics,
social sciences, humanities and natural sciences. As sophomores, they mesh several
basic business courses with the arts and sciences requirements. Progression into
the upper division or junior year is not automatic. Application is made during
the last quarter of the sophomore year. Students with a 2.25+ cumulative GPA after
at least 60 hours, and 2.25+ lower division subset GPA in the following courses:
BUAD 1010/2030; ISOM 1020/2060/2070; ACCT 2040/2050; MGMT/MKTG 2080 will be automatically
accepted. Other students will be considered on an individual basis. The
business core courses begin during the junior year. It is at this point that a
student selects his/her area of specialization or major, which is completed throughout
the junior and senior years. However, some students wait until they have "tested
out" a few of the required core courses before selecting their major. Master
